Interest-free car finance in Switzerland

A concise, factual overview of how halal vehicle finance can work — and what it does not mean.

What is the structure?

In Ijarah Muntahia Bittamleek (IMB), an investor buys and owns the car. The customer pays fixed rent for the right to use it. A separate Wa'd, or unilateral promise, provides for ownership transfer after the final payment.

Who carries which risks?

The owner carries ownership risks such as structural defects and the insurance risk. The driver pays operating costs such as fuel, tyres and ordinary servicing. The contract must state these duties clearly.

What does it cost?

The monthly rent is agreed in advance. Registration, review, matching and consultation by Amana Mobility cost CHF 0 until a contract is signed. A disclosed fixed advisory fee is due only on contract completion; Amana does not charge a percentage of the financed amount.

What is Amana Mobility's role?

Amana Mobility is an advisory and matchmaking service. It does not lend money, hold client funds or become a party to the Ijarah and Wa'd contracts. The buyer and investor sign directly with each other and should obtain independent legal, tax and Shariah advice.
